Welcome to Blueberry Creek Forest and Nature Centre

MISSION STATEMENT

At Blueberry Creek Forest and Nature Centre, we seek to develop each child’s imagination, self-confidence, artistic abilities and creative problem solving skills. We aim to foster a deep love of the natural world in a collaborative learning environment.”

Blueberry Creek Forest School and Nature Centre is located in Tay Valley, Ontario on 2.5 acres of land with gardens and a small hobby farm. The “indoor classroom” is a fully renovated heritage farmhouse and art studio filled with high quality materials to create. The “outdoor classroom” will continue to be co-constructed with the students as they make this beautiful place their own.

We now offer Forest School onsite programs to a wide range of families four days a week for ages 4 years to 10 years. With educator ratios of 2 educators to 16 children for Monday and Wednesday, and 2 educators to 12 children for Tuesdays and Thursdays, we are able to offer high levels of engagement where we are in a relationship with your child and their learning.

Monday 9am-3pm (ages 4 yrs-10 yrs)

Tuesday Forest Kindergarten 9am-3pm (ages 3.8 yrs-6 yrs) (Spaces open)

The Tuesday program has a particular focus on land based relational approaches with artistic processes and you can find the description here: Tuesday Forest Kindergarten Description 2023-2024

Wednesday 9am-3pm (ages 4 yrs-10 yrs)

Thursday Forest Kindergarten 9am-3pm (ages 3.8 yrs-6 yrs)

Blueberry Creek Forest and Nature Centre acknowledges that it is situated on land that is the traditional territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabeg People. We feel gratitude to have access to this land, to be able to learn and play on it with children, families, and members of local communities. We acknowledge the people who have been here before us, and who are still here today.
