So many times, as we watch children, we think we already know what they are going to do or that we have seen this before. This session will open up our perspective to see the world through the view of the child, and how that affects our ways of being with them.
Come and join us for a reflective conversation that helps us to see how competent children are, how we can listen for their ideas, and how we can document those ideas to have better relationships with the children and families we encounter. Capturing the excitement and joy of children’s learning will increase your own sense of joy and well-being in your work.
“The “Seeing and Really Listening to Children” workshop really opened the participants thought processes, you could literally hear the gears turning!” “Kathy has a natural ability to encourage you to slow down and really reflect on your focus in each interaction with the children in your care. “ Sandra Zito, RECE Child Care Providers Resource Network, Ottawa, ON
“Seeing and really listening to children: this concept makes us stop and take a good look at ourselves. The ReCognition workshop was reflective, inclusive and hands on. It was a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and discuss “responding to ideas” and reflect on ways we can “improve our ability to see”.
